​Malaysia Tourism Policy


In 1992, Malaysia introduced a Malaysia Tourism Policy aimed to develop the ecotourism industry, improve sources of eco-attractions, and encourage environmental conservation.

National Conservation Strategy


The government of Malaysia launched the National Conservation Strategy in 1992 to protect natural habitats and biodiversity, including ecotourism sites. It includes an ecotourism development component that promotes sustainable tourism practices and enhances the overall economic and social benefits of ecotourism providing a positive impact on Malaysia's ecotourism development.

Sustainable Tourism Master Plan

The government of Malaysia launched the Sustainable Tourism Master Plan in 2019 to promote ecotourism activities, initiate sustainable practices and policies, and increase the number of environmentally responsible tourists by 2025.
