Librarians (urban libraries may receive 1 free copy)
Examination Copies
Instructors may request examination copies of books they wish to consider for course adoption. Up to three ebooks are available simultaneously for this purpose at no cost for a trial period of 60 days.
In the event that ebook versions are unavailable, complimentary copies of up to three titles may be requested in print form for a nonrefundable shipping and handling charge. If you adopt the book and place an order for ten or more copies, these books need not be returned, nor will instructors be billed for them.
If you do not adopt the book, an invoice will be generated or you may return the book and have the invoice cancelled. Books must be returned in excellent condition with original invoice information.
Paperbacks are available for examination at a cost of $5.00 a volume. Hardcovers that retail for less than $50.00 may be requested for $10.00 each (we regret that we are unable to offer examination copies of volumes that retail for more than $50.00). Please note, however, that the Press reserves the right to limit the availability of exam copies in print, and we ask that those who receive such copies from us refrain from reselling them, scanning them, or redistributing them to others in any form.
Here's how to request printed books for examination should ebooks be unavailable:
1. Write your request on departmental letterhead; the address on your letterhead will be your shipping address unless you instruct otherwise. Include the following information:
Your name
Email address
Name of your course
Estimated enrollment
Name of your campus bookstore
2. Limit your request to three volumes in total.
3. Calculate the nonrefundable shipping and handling charge:
For paperbacks: $5.00 per volume
For hardcovers under $50, retail price: $10.00 per volume
4. Include payment for the shipping and handling charge with your request. To pay by credit card, please include the following information with your request:
Card type (all major credit cards accepted)
Name on card
Card number
Expiration date
Card security code
(The card security code is located on the back of MasterCard, Visa, and Discover credit or debit cards and is typically a separate group of three digits to the right of the signature strip. On American Express cards, the four-digit code is printed above the card number on the front.)
